DHL and IMG Fashion have announced a sponsorship agreement that makes DHL the Official Express Carrier and Logistics Provider of IMG Fashion’s US-based fashion events. The relationship begins with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, February 2-9, 2007.

DHL’s partnership with IMG includes sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Additionally, DHL will sponsor IMG’s new consumer Fashion Week experience tour, FashionWeekLive presented by Sephora, which kicks off in March 2007 with events in Houston, Dallas, Chicago and San Francisco. The sponsorship is part of DHL’s multi-platform program to serve the unique needs of the fashion, apparel and retail industries.

Unique Services for Fashion - “DHL’s sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week demonstrates our commitment to serving the fashion industry,” said Karen Jones, Senior Vice President, Corporate & Marketing Communications, DHL Express.

Because of the company’s leadership position in Asia, Europe and Central and South America, DHL has resources in place to serve these markets vital to the fashion industry. DHL continues to expand its leading international services, most recently increasing its overnight door-to-door service from Asia with five additional flights to the U.S.

Dedicated DHL fashion staff in New York City offer services tailored to the industry such as sample room management, consolidation services and international vendor management. While DHL consolidation sweeps services combine shipments and reduce the number of consignments for DHL customers, DHL’s Import Express service allows fashion clients to navigate customs and government shipping regulations while ensuring critical deliveries arrive on time. With Import Express, shipments are handled by DHL from pickup outside the US to delivery in the US, with all tracking, invoicing and single-currency payment through DHL.

Attended by more than 100,000 members of the fashion industry, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is among the world’s premier fashion events. Held twice a year under tents in New York City’s famed Bryant Park, the by-invitation-only event hosts more than 70 designers who unveil new collections during shows staged for press, retailers and other industry executives.

Launched in 1993, the New York event has inspired IMG to stage similar shows in Los Angeles and Miami. This year, IMG will launch FashionWeekLive, a consumer experience tour that kicks off in March 2007 with events in Houston, Dallas, Chicago and San Francisco.

DHL at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - The DHL presence at the Bryant Park tents is designed to cultivate business relationships with the retailers, designers and manufacturers who represent the $250 billion fashion industry.

Among DHL services at the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York will be DHL shipping centers to provide shipping services for the fashion industry guests who assemble for the week of shows. DHL will also handle all delivery and logistics for the production of the FashionWeekLive tour events, which will travel to four US cities beginning this spring.
