Sterling Commerce appoints Julie Christie as Head of Marketing PDF Print E-mail
Sterling Commerce, the multi-enterprise collaboration company and a subsidiary of AT&T Inc.  has announced the appointment of Julie Christie as Head of Marketing, Australia and New Zealand.

Christie joins Sterling Commerce with over 20 years of marketing and sales experience gained from within IT vendors and IT publishing companies both in Australia and the US.  At Sterling Commerce, she will be responsible for increasing brand awareness, generating sales leads, managing partner and alliance marketing and working closely with the newly formed regional inside sales team.
 
She was Marketing Director for Sybase, an information management and information mobility company, covering the A/NZ region and based in Sydney.  Her accomplishments included creating a successful branding campaign that increased positive awareness among Sybase customers, designing and executing an integrated lead generation program and delivering the first ever and now annual Sybase A/NZ partner summit.
 
Christie also managed a Sybase Telesales team, oversaw a Sybase A/NZ website redesign and launch, and helped to double the number of Sybase User Groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.
 
She has held various marketing positions at enterprise software companies in the U.S. including enterprise systems management vendor, Candle Corporation, where she was Marketing Communications Specialist and Worldwide Media Planner; at CRM middleware vendor, Delano Technology, as Regional Marketing Manager, Western U.S.; and sales roles in the IT publishing market including: International Data Group’s (IDG) Network World as district sales manager and McGraw Hill’s Datacommunications Magazine & Tele.com Magazine as Regional Sales Manager.  
 
Christie holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications Studies with a minor in Marketing from California State University, Chico, and has completed the Macquaire GSM Business Marketing Module at the Australian Institute of Management in Sydney.
