Abu Dhabi : Nearly 400 executives from various fields from the GCC region are expected to take part in the first Abu Dhabi Quest for Excellence Summit 2007 to exchange opinions and ideas on varied topics and explore prospects of business networking. The event will be held at the Emirates Palace in the capital on October 29. This was announced here yesterday by the International Emirates Management for Quality (IEMQ), a leading consulting firm, and the Emirates Quality Association (EQA), a business improvement association in the UAE. The summit will target the youth from the UAE who are trying to start a business and attempt to boost their morale so that they take the lead in business development in the country. Several business planning executives, trading companies, governments’ oil and gas sectors, electronics, education and film industry will take part in the event. Under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the summit will serve as a platform to showcase the unique styles of leadership among the most distinguished GCC leaders. The leaders will share their exceptional management experience, expertise and achievements with an expected 600 decision-makers in the region. Addressing the media, Badria Al Mulla, President of IEMQ, Vice-President of Emirates Quality Association and Chairman of the Steering Committee, said, “The Abu Dhabi Quest will provide a comprehensive platform to exchange and acquire knowledge from the most distinguished leaders in the UAE and other parts of the region. The leaders will impart a real life experience.” The mission of EQA is to contribute towards excellence and the continued business growth in the region. “We are confident that this executive forum will inspire and empower delegates and prove to be a catalyst for the creation of a world-class management pool in the GCC region,” said Professor Hadi Eltigani, Summit Vice-President, President of EQA and Quality and Business Excellence Director at Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
