As a first step of its regional expansion drive, the Abu Dhabi National Foodstuff Company (Foodco)
has set up a branch in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“We have already acquired an $11 million building on the renowned Diplomatic Quarter Street in Manama in order to house our Bahrain office,” says Foodco's managing director and member of the board of directors,
Ahmed bin Ali Khalfan Al Dhahery.

 “The Bahrain operations will add stimulus to our already increasing turnover. We are sure this will bring more value to our existing operations, which have resulted in substantial benefits to shareholders,” he says. The company is headquartered in Abu Dhabi with branches in Dubai and Al Ain and already is a volume supplier of frozen poultry, meat and vegetables to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Iran and Egypt.

Foodco recently made a foray into associated businesses like packaging and providing a range of solutions to the foodstuff industry. In addition to dealing in a wide range of brands, export and distribution of essential
commodities like rice, sugar, salt and cooking oil are placed on top of Foodco's portfolio of services.
