In response to the growth of its online product merchandising business, Tentoe Inc. has officially changed its name to SellPoint Inc. and launched a new corporate-branding campaign. SellPoint CEO, Rick Martin, said, "The online retail venue has become the new 'decision point' for shoppers to research, compare, and ultimately select products. This shift in consumer behavior makes the creation, syndication, and tracking of engaging product presentations a critical part of a manufacturer's marketing program." "Rebranding our company as SellPoint is a key component of our plans for long-term growth and our strategic commitment to online merchandising. We believe that this name better conveys the promise of our solution, as well as the marketplace where we reside," he added. The creation, syndication and tracking of engaging product presentations has become a critical part of many manufacturers’ marketing programs since many shoppers are using online retail venues to research, compare and select products. Rebranding the six-year-old Tentoe as SellPoint is key to the company’s plans for long-term growth and its commitment to online merchandising. SellPoint, Pleasanton, CA, offers proprietary technology that facilitates the creation of product presentations using audio and video to demonstrate a product’s key selling points. These “Active Product Tours” can be placed anywhere a product is sold online, and manufacturers can receive detailed reports of shopper behavior. And shoppers are now asking for this engaging view of products. According to SellPoint Marketing VP Dennis Marshall, "In the past 12 months, over 10 million shoppers chose to view our product presentations at the online point- of-sale by selecting the 'product demo' button on retail product pages and other online campaigns. These same shoppers spent over 23 million minutes viewing the product tours, averaging over 2 minutes for each product presentation they chose." The company's clients include several of the premier brands in consumer electronics and related gear, including Canon, Panasonic, Epson, SanDisk, Toshiba, Fuji. |
